Sue Anne Hodge first immersed herself in the Nancy Drew Mystery, The Secret of the Old Clock. Her "Never" series is based on two things she knows very well: mortuaries and owning apartments. 

The idea for the first novel in this series came when she discovered one of her tenants deceased on her couch. She'd seen many dead bodies lying pristine in their caskets, but never witnessed what heat and time can do to a corpse until that day.
